Rifabutin Capsules, USP

For the prevention of Mycobacterium Avium Intracellular (MAI) in:

  1. Patients with a CD4+ cell count less than 200/mm³ with an AIDS defining diagnosis;
  2. Patients with a CD4+ cell count less than 100/mm³ without an AIDS defining diagnosis.

This product should only be dispensed if the pharmacy is unable to obtain supply of the Formulary-listed, Canadian-labelled rifabutin product. It is not interchangeable with any other product listed on the ODB Formulary, and a new prescription may be required to dispense it.
